Kirklees Metropolitan Council have teamed up with liftshare, Britain's largest car-sharing network and set up www.carsharekirklees.com . This web site aims to reduce travel costs as well as congestion and pollution.

As well as meeting these aims, carsharekirklees.com supports the Council's EMAS accredited Environment Policy, which includes implementing actions which seek to minimise the environmental impact of the Council's fleet vehicles and staff journeys to, and from work and supporting and facilitating the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
